Structure Design

The base of the cutting machine is made of durable cast aluminum material, with a corrosion-resistant coating on the surface that is easy to clean. The cutting area and the electrical area are completely insulated and independent of each other. Two T-shaped groove workbenches are made of stainless steel and can be installed with any standard fixture with 12mm T-shaped nuts (ordered separately). When the metal front cover is opened, it is supported by two pneumatic springs to maintain stability during shutdown operations. It can be drained at the rear or lower part of the cutting machine through two large-sized drainage outlets with filter screens. The coolant nozzles installed on both sides of the cutting blade can continuously ensure that the sample is not burned during cutting. Six rubber feet can effectively reduce the vibration that may be generated by the cutting machine.

cut mode

There are four cutting modes for users to choose from, as follows:
1) Manual cutting in the Z-axis direction, using a pull rod for "straight cutting" manually.
2) Use the vertical movement handle to perform manual cutting in the Y-axis direction.
3) Driven by a Y-axis motor and controlled through a touch screen, it performs vertical automatic cutting in the Y-axis direction.
4) Optional X-axis mobile worktable for manual continuous series cutting in the Y-axis direction.
The use of Z-axis pull rods can achieve a simple and fast manual direct cutting function, allowing operators to have a direct cutting experience and control the feed rate.
Manual Y-axis cutting is suitable for processing samples with large lengths and irregular shapes. This method is controlled by rotating the handle for cutting.
The use of Y-axis automatic cutting function by users can improve production efficiency. All cutting parameters can be set on an easy-to-use control panel. After the operator sets the cutting length and feed speed, the cutting machine can complete the remaining work. The automatic cutting mode adopts Buehler's SMARTCUT technology. During the cutting process, the machine will automatically reduce the feed rate when needed to achieve continuous burn free cutting. Choosing the pulse cutting mode can cut some difficult to cut samples.
The optional X-axis cutting function allows for continuous parallel cutting without the need to reload the sample. This cutting method also uses a rotating feed handle for sample movement.

Circulating cooling system with roller cart

Effective and sufficient cooling is a key factor in achieving burn free cutting of samples. Cooling during cutting is crucial for ensuring the quality of the cut surface and preventing excessive surface damage caused by overheating or improper wear of the cutting blade. The cooling cycle system of AbrasiMatic 300 will automatically start when the cutting blade is started. If cleaning of the cutting machine is required, the cooling circulation system can also be manually activated. The circulating water tank adopts a three-stage partition design to effectively separate the sediment of cutting debris from the coolant. The AbrasiMatic 300 circulating cooling system (ordered separately) includes a centrifugal pump and a 22 gallon (83 liter) water tank, flow control valves, and drainage pipes. The trolley with rollers makes it very convenient to move and clean the water tank.

The AbrasiMatic 300 cutting machine takes safety as an important design principle and adopts a steel safety cover and transparent observation window design. The steel cutting blade protective cover always protects the rotating cutting blade. This machine is equipped with a large emergency stop button that can be quickly touched and pressed by the operator. When an emergency situation occurs, pressing the emergency stop button will immediately cut off the power supply to the cutting motor and the circulating cooling system, while the base lighting power supply remains on. The safety lock ensures that the cutting machine motor and other parts of the power supply are completely cut off when the machine face mask is opened. In order to improve safety, the safety lock on the machine cover can ensure that the cover cannot be opened when the motor rotates. The easy to operate main power switch can turn off the power of the entire machine. When the machine is in an overload state, the triggered overload protection switch will be activated, and its reset operation is also very simple. The low voltage (24 volts) control system ensures operator safety and its performance fully meets CE and RoHs protocols.

The AbrasiMatic 300 adopts popular color touch screen control technology and HMI (Human Machine Interface) to achieve information exchange and communication between the electromechanical system and the operator. The operator can use the touchable icons on the touch screen to input commands. The manual and automatic operation modes are displayed on separate screens. All text on the touch screen can be selected from eight languages (English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean), and all units can be chosen between the imperial and metric systems.
